Exactly. I had the Edge technology in a Remington Classic stock on a long action 700. Nice stock. You can the Edge in any stock pattern that fits your rifle. If you wanted to be adventurous, choose a stock pattern, order it as a flat top, then have a gunsmith relief it and fit to your rifle. Take measurements and make sure that it will work for your rifle.
Kimber wouldn't sell me a Montana stock for my 84M Varmint and McMillan doesn't offer one. I guess MPI offered one, but I had never seen one. I took some measurements, determined that a Remington Model 7 stock was very close in size to a Montana stock. Ordered a Wildcat Model 7 stock blank. The gunsmith relieved it to fit the Kimber Varmint.
Would do it again. Both the McMillan and the Wildcat.
