Default Camp Wainwright Primitive Weapon 2023

I drew the primitive weapon antlerless moose tag this year. My helper is going to be my 82-year-old dad. Any other hunters that are going on that hunt want to swap phone numbers? Always a good idea to have extra eyes out there and more importantly, if anyone gets stuck and needs a pull out. Send me a PM if interested. Good luck to everyone. Stay safe and straight shooting.

If you ask around at the morning briefing, and find out who has antlered tags, you can get numbers and exchange sightings of moose that you don't have a tag for.

Sounds like a fun hunt! I did the primitive weapons deer hunt a few years back and got a nice whitetail but I sure worked for it, snow past my knees, -27C. Shot the deer a long ways from the road, has to go back and forth with the toboggan.

I think exchanging numbers is a really good idea so you have some back up help.
Good luck!

Hey 4x4, I’ve been working on the base on a project for the last year, and have seen a fair few bullwinkles in my driving around. A few sets of cows/calves together in multiple times in the same spots. I don’t know what the official boundaries are for your hunt, but if you want to send over your zoned map I can try and pick out some spots I saw a lot of activity and signs in.

If anyone knows someone with a bull tag, there is one cranker that hangs around there and must be the local boss. I have a picture from June this year and he was already looking big.

We’ll be there for primitive hunt (muzzleloader white tails). There are three of us, and maybe the old man might come out to get out of house (he’s 83). I’ll send you my #
