Interesting bird --- spec feet, inmature spec body and beak -- head colour is not the norm for a spec. Perhaps some leucistic I would get a bio to look at it as it could be a one of.

Definitely a juvie speck. With a very cool head on it. Congratulations on a heck of a trophy.

We've had some with white chests or mottled necks before, but never a white head. That one is very unique.

To me, it looks like a juvenile Whitefront (Specklebelly) with a Ross' head.

A number of waterfowlers that have seen it think it is possibly a Canada/ Speck cross.

That reminds me of a goose that I saw in a field a few years ago. It had a similar white head, and was feeding with Canadas. I just combed my pictures, but unfortunately can't find the picture to compare.

How did it compare on size to the Canada's? This one was about 2/3 as big..

I honestly don't remember, and I never noticed the color of the legs/feet.
