Weird.
Road kill picked up and left there by a raven perhaps.
No talon marks on it?

Sparrow hawks will hand their prey in the crotch of trees so maybe a larger one took on this weasel. If it were taken by the head, that might explain lack of marks. If I were that bird, I would want to take it by the head, unless I wanted a real air battle...

Nope. His neck wedged perfectly in the branch split. Probably never see that again.

Clearly a case of suicide.

Was there any indication that the branch may have been bent over on the ground and swung up when the weasel dislodged it?

I find it hard to believe this was an accident. I've watched too many Weasels to believe that. They could make any gymnast faint with the moves they are capable of.

I would say something placed it there after it had died from other causes.
Perhaps a owl, or maybe a Squirrel. Yes Squirrels can and sometimes do kill Weasels.

Whatever, I just can't imagine a Weasel hanging itself.

If you had found a harmonica or an accordion with it, I'd have a theory for you, but just the weasel hanging there, as it is I got nuthin'

Ah, ...the ermine twig trap. Hard to set but very effective.

Seriously, I suspect a bird placed the weasel there too.

Could the snow load up the branch and maybe he was screwing around relieved some of the snow and the branch sprung.

I would not believe it if I didn't see it first hand. There is no punctures in the hide and he was frozen solid in the branch. Maybe 3 ft in the air. Strange for sure.

Came across a coyote with his head wedged I the v of two trees. Rough way to die. I think he was try to get at a bird nest in the tree. I bet the mamma bird had a good laugh.
