Default Trappers license

Apparently the F&W office in Red Deer is not letting any foot traffic into their office since covid. So I phoned them, left a message with my name, previous trapping license number and other pertinent details. That was this last Mon. Tried again this AM (Fri), same thing and no response. Looking to get my annual trappers license.

Am I doing something wrong or does this take that long? I’ve got bait out, it’s getting hit hard, excellent conditions, and I can’t get started.

Just my thought...

You don't have to deal with just that office. Try a different regional F&W office like Edmonton or Calgary. If you are long distance dial 310-0000 (toll free gov't) and then ask operator to be connected to either regional office.

Try another office and give them your pin number, it's on the left top of your license. We got resident licenses from the Edmonton office, a few e-mails and credit card, easy.

Apparently you can renew via email at the Edmonton office.

I printed the form, filled it out, took a picture and retuned to the email that they sent it from. Also signed trappers license and sent them a copy the same way.

I phoned Red Deer office earlier in the month. Took about 3 minutes for the phone call and they emailed me payment info, and shortly after my license. They have been pretty efficient in issuing us licenses, both Registered and Resident. Light years ahead of the gong shows in Sundre.
