Default Antlerless Mule Deer

I'm just glancing through the regs and it seems to me that a youth hunter needs a draw for an Antlerless Mule?,, really?,, what the heck is with that?

Can't say I can help you with that, but in years past there are several areas that Antlerless Mule Deer draws are undersubscribed.

l think Alberta shud maybe follow the lead of Montana, they allow Youth Hunters to take either sex deer, for the first two days preceeding any regular season. Tag is also at a reduced rate. Without YOUTH hunters there is no future in hunting. Why not invest in them, promote the sport, and have a future in the sport?

At least a youth can get a partner license for most species. That is how my antlered mule draw is going to be used. And with the young man's father providing an antlerless tag, he has the opportunity to harvest two mule deer. I am looking forward to being a part of the hunt.
