Default $100-$200 .22 rifle?

What is a good used .22 semi auto rifle that can be found for $100 to $200, or cheaper
Just looking for a rifle that will be good just for target shooting. I am a little sick of having to pay about $1 a round for my enfield . I have a .22 pistol, but for some reason never picked up a .22 rifle.

Don't bother going with a semi at that price, instead pick up a Savage bolt action and you can't go wrong. It will be much more accurate and reliable, one I could personally recommend http://ca.wholesalesports.com/storef...rod224416.html Be willing to spend another 50-150 to get a decent semi-auto.

I been shooting the same 64B for alot of years now. When I bought it new it had the plastic clip. I converted it to a metal clip many years ago, can't remember when. I put alot of bullets thru it between cleanings and it's still operating just fine.
I've seen alot of negetive comments on the 64's, but I don't have any.

Default Marlin 60

The most popular .22 ever produced. Bought one but have yet to shoot it yet. I paid $175 at p&D last week.

Wholeale sports in edmonton has a Marlin 795 semi with clip same as model 60 but the 60 has tube feed not clip. Price is $139... don't know why anyone would buy used at that price. I am waiting to pick one up for my kid.. supposed to be in stock next week.

I have an old cooey as well love it but the Marlins are a great little gun my dad had a 60 for years. Out of the box they are as good as or more accurate then a ruger 10/22 but Marlin does not have the aftermarket parts the 10/22 does. You can spend some money and great a great 10/22 but for the price you can not beat the marlin for targets or gophers.

If you want add a scope for $20-30 and you will have years of shooting ahead of you.

If putting lots of shells through the gun make sure you clean it well.. it will prevent copper and powder buildup int he barrel and help your accuracy.

X2. Just for plain easy fun. Couldn't find a used 10/22, so my amazing wife bought me a new one! Shoulda done it years ago. Even if someone had to sell the extra furniture.

Marlin 60 is the top selling 22 in history. It's more reliable and accurate than the 10/22 in my experience. About $169. Can't go wrong.

Default .22

Yeah thats a low price range for something decent. Try something used.
I have an old lakefield & bought a ruger 10/22 few years ago still the best rifle I own, love it. By the time I put a scope on it it probably ran me in the $500 range but well worth.
