Shotguns ... any ideas
Well that PAL finally got here , walked from Miramichi ....
I am thinking of a new waterfowl gun , dont want to shoot
any more steel out of the O/U ...
Was thinking Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 ga . Hoisted
a new one last season seemed pretty nice , Any other
suggestions . Did have acouple of Beretta autos ,a few
years back . Want something that works even when dirty ..
Thanks W101

Ray grab one of those Beretta Extrema 2's then when you dont like it you can sell it to me and buy a Mossy 935 or a Rem CTi.
If your looking for a pump I would choose the BPS. Bottom Ejection so your not throwing shells everywhere but in your coffin blind.
The lethbridge gun show is this weekend you could always come down for a peak.

Well you can't go wrong with a 870 Wingmaster.
This is gun is a classic. It will treat you good and is affordable.
There are more expensive fancier guns out there, but they are going to cost you a lot more too.
If I was buying a brand new pump action today. I would look at the new Model 870 Super Magnum XCS Waterfowl (Xtreme Conditions Shotgun)

I have both the Beretta Extrema 2 and the Remington 870 Super Mag Express...the Beretta Extrema is an incredible migratory gun, you wouldn't regret buying it other that it is pricey. You need to decide how much you will use it, if you are a big migratory bird hunter then spend the extra and enjoy it, otherwise buy a pump...the BPS is a great shotgun as well.

If you want to spend some money, then also consider Benelli SBE II. I got one for and simply love it. It also takes 3.5" shells. Or Benelli other models that takes 3" shells and costs about half of SBE.

For waterfowl...... i would go with a 10gauge pump. Browning makes a nice one. My Marlin Bolt Action Supergoose 10 sure knocks them down. I use it on ducks too. I can reach a long way.

I agree with Rockymtnx... there are lots of good choices, but you can't go wrong with an 870.

Benelli
I was a dedicated Remington only man for a long time. I picked up a Benelli Nova last fall and I am wondering why I didn't try sooner. I love the gun. Fiber optic bead in the front really helps to get a line on where your gun is sitting. I have shot 3.5's exclusively and have never had a bruise. I use it in my coffin blind and even if you catch the gun in a funny spot on your arm instead of in "the pocket" it won't dislocate your shoulder. I even knocked down a goose left handed this year when they came in on the wrong side.
I will always own a Benelli now unless they make some weird and drastic changes for the worse.

Ive been told by a few sources it was this weekend. Ive seen a couple people saying it was the 17th weekend. You could always run to Marksmen and double check.

Agree with most here... 870 is a great well-proven cheaper gun if you want to go pump. If you want semi-auto that works regardless of how dirty or abused it gets, then it's gotta be a Beretta. The extrema is the new waterfowl gun, but I use the 391 Urika for waterfowl, upland, trap. Never lets me down, totally reliable, and the gas system is a little softer shooting than some others.

For pumps, Benelli Nova, Browning BPS and Remington 870 (Express or Wingmaster). Shoulder all of them and buy the one that fits best.
Don't know much about the autos....

Definitely go with something that has the 3.5" capabilities if you are into water foul.. I have had my 870 Super Express for 3 seasons now and love it Remington is Remington need not say anything else..
For my two older boys I went with the Mossberg 3.5" mags and I tell you for $450 they are damn fine water foul guns.. They may not have the best wood or look the fanciest but you can't beat them for the price...
