357 Ammo?

I just received my new Winchester 357 Magnum Trapper gun in the mail and went to buy some ammunition. The only ammo i could find was UMC 125gr. Leadless, flat nose, enclosed base. I bought a couple of boxes, and came home to do some research. Any info. i can find says that they are handgun ammuntion, does anyone know if it would be safe to use in a rifle?

Yes they will be safe to use in the rifle, its action is much stronger than a revolvers. The 158 grain is the most popular weight in the 357.

Yeah, its a pretty cool little rifle. Short barrelled, straight stock, saddle ring and in brand new condition. Just not the bear bustin' rifle i was looking for. It'll be the perfect gun for the right guy, just unfortunately, probably not me. But I am gonna shoot off a box of ammo before i do sell it.
