Default silver price!

You, yourself have to set the limit, when to sell and what you want! That's the whole story! Waiting to long, the price might drop. Wait and the price may take off! Who knows. The price point is when your happy with the deal! and what you have invested! Get Greedy it may cost you into holding for a few more years, if the price drops big time!

IMO there is no benefit to selling silver right now, unless you need cash, all you’re doing is trading something viable for a devaluing dollar, history has dictated that if you are in precious metals for the long game and steady making purchases, you will not loose, and being that the historic gold to silver ratio has been about 35/1, silver has great potential to keep climbing!

I’m not in an hurry to do anything in any event.
I’ve been holding some silver for more than 25 years.
Just seeing what others are thinking.

Yes that was to purchase a single maple leaf, not only will you not be able to find silver for spot at a dealers, but government minted coins, that contain a dollar value, carry a premium. When the silver wasn’t going so crazy you would purchase a regular investment ingot or coin, and pay spot + 5-9% commission, add $2-$3.50 premium for government issued coins, so long as they are not collectors grade. Right now you’re paying $9–$12 above spot

Just to be clear, did you sell maples at approximately $42.50 CDN?

Default Jumps every day

Seems like every day since this thread started AG and AU have had nice jumps up in price.

Silver hit 37.80 spot today and who knows what it will close at. I have no idea what they are selling it for at the dealers but you are probably right that there is a large premium being added.

Has anyone done any selling and if so are you getting above spot?

Even with her climbing, I don't mind selling off a bit at a time---boy starts hunting this year and will need some new gear.

While this is a never before seen world scenario, the powers that be have never let metals be where they should be and this time will be no different. They will suppress it.

Profit is good and pigs get slaughtered.

All JMHO of course

I know they charge 5-9% commission, no gst, unless it’s not .999, sterling will require gst, unless it has changed! Wholesalers premium is ridiculous right now, I asked a couple dealers what it was, and the answer I was given in all cases was “High”! They couldn’t give me a percentage number because it was constantly changing.

Gold is one of the few assets that Governments have no control over the price of any longer. They lost control of it in 1971 when the USD was decoupled from gold and American citizens were free to own it again. The only control the government has over the price is through the supply/demand curve or if they get their crap together and start defending the USD. For now investors are starting to realize that the USD and other currencies are a pos. They want hard assets. Inflation is the next thing on the agenda. Nothings new. We’ve seen this same thing before. People just forget history.

You’re boys hunting gear is definitely a good investment trade off for your silver, still better then cash, He will develop/sharpen a skill that will allow himself to provide and IMO, you can’t go wrong!!!
