Default Things to do in work camp

So I have a job where I am staying in camp. Been in 6 days and tired of sitting watching TV. What are some other things people in similar situations have thought of? There are only two of us in camp at a time, there is exercise equipment and I am going to bring my bow to shoot. There is a shop with tools that I can use as well.

Thanks in advance.

Reloading, casting bullets, work on/clean and detail truck, whittling/wood work, stock/gun refinishing, quad/drive/walk the area, go fishing, take pictures, try primitive trap making/bushcraft, reading.

Maybe check and make sure you can have archery gear or guns and ammo in camp first - many camps prohibit them!

What kind of jobs do you guys have where you are in camp so long?

I barely have enough time to eat, call the missus and sleep.

During Hunting season, I hunt. Fishing season, I fish. Get in my truck go for long drives. Take pictures, chop truckloads wood, enjoy the freedom. Smile, be happy that I am not working offshore.

Operating a gas plant that was commissioned last year. Plant runs very smooth, pretty sweet gig.

It is a private camp, we are allowed bows.

Consider doing correspondence courses.

This will be a lot easier if you have Internet access, but still possible without.

If you are doing an operating job you may have slow time on-shift to read the course work.
Cost may be deductible, and
acquiring knowledge is never a waste of time, it may be the only thing we ever truly own, and that no-one can steal.

Your employer may be very supportive.

Good Luck, YMMV.

Hobbies like leather tooling, woodburning, painting, drawing, engraving, silversmithing are all tabletop hobbies. Release the creativity and artist in you. You might be a regular rembrandt. Or learn harmonica or an instrument.

A harmonica is a reed free wind instrument... There is no need to belittle it!

Have an affair with one of your co workers. I hear it happens.

Too Funny. I should know better. I've been playing harmonica for 40+ years.

Be patient. Sit back and let the time roll by and money roll in. Call the wife every evening. Saturday is steak night. Thursday is spagetti night. Wednesday is usually pretty good tv night. Thursday is prime rib. Etc.
