Fly tying app with video?
Just wondering if anyone knows of a fly tying app that is beginner friendly that has videos. But here's the caveat, I need it to be accessible without Internet. I'll be in Waterton for work and won't have Internet, only data on the phone but I don't want to chew through it.
I am very much a beginner to tying flys, even more so than fly fishing itself. I've had equipment for 15 years but haven't gone out even 15 times.

Yep, I remember those. I'm more of a visual learner than read and learn. I do have a book but for me the video's should help more.

Well, getting back to books, there is a beautifully photographed book titled "Fly Tying for Beginners" by Peter Gathercole, published by Barron's Educational Series, Inc.
It illustrates 15 core techniques, and then has detailed recipes and instructions for 50 patterns. Each pattern instruction has 8 annotated colour photographs starting from tying in the first material through to the final wraps and whip finish. Much easier to follow than a video, IMHO.

I think the crux is no wifi!! You should be able to upload a video some how, but might be easier said then done.
Maybe see if anyone has some DVDs ( pending you have a computer with a DVD drive).

I will look for crux. My laptop does not have a DVD drive unfortunately.
Thanks. These last couple responses seem to be answering the question and steering me in the right direction.

Sounds like you’d prefer to take some short clips with you. I’m not sure how computer savvy you are, but you may want to do a search for how to download youtube videos for offline viewing to find a potential solution you’d be comfortable with.
Barring that, and depending on how long you’ll be out of the service area for, I’d highly suggest heading down to the library and borrowing a few books on fly tying to take with you (FYI the Calgary library carries the ‘Fly tying for beginners’ book suggested above). Ideally borrow a few books with the hopes that at least one of them will speak to you / provide good enough instructions to be able to tie a few flies without a video.
FYI – the library allows you to keep the book for up to 3 weeks. If there are no holds on it (i.e. no one else is waiting to read the copy of the book), you can renew it up to 3 or 4 times. Each time you renew it, it resets the 3 week timer.
