I think this dead head has been laying for at least 15 years. A friend found a 100 inch shed about then and the brow tines, G2's and the mass are a dead match. To bad didn't find it earlier.

going out tomorrow for a full day without my little one. I have high hopes. Will probably lug the bow with me for the odd daring gopher. I expect there will be alot of people on the hunt this weekend

Didn't know they even made Rainier beer anymore but I sure like the character and color of those heavy stubby whitetail sheds. And you even got both of them! That's another reason I love shed hunting...you get the horns of the ones you would pass on but once you get them in your hands they are special in their own way too. Nice find and thanks for sharing all of you guys.

Hi - my first time shedding - we found 7 moose sheds! 1 was too frozen in water, will have to go back and get that another day.

Looked for the matching sides of the recent sheds but no luck.

well done SSTL. I know a guy that would love to buy those Fresh Moose sheds for carving...doubt you want to part with them beauties though eh.

Heres my pile from this year...I have seen 3 different vehicles and people where i shed hunt around Red Deer and i am the only one with permission ?? Hmm find it kinda humorous because i have picked it pretty clean. Hope they enjoyed their walk and fresh air..lol
I really should use something other than my cell phone to post pics. however i have been packing the video camera and hope to do a video when i'm done.

Great piles of bone there Springer.. I am Jealous of the moose sehds you guys are finding! I have never found one yet.

Funny thing about land owners and permission..

On one great piece of land I supposedly only have access on.. I ran into 3 hunters one day. Chatted them up like nothing was up. Turns out they couild tell me everything about the owner and that they thought THEY were the only ones with permission, and wondered who I was.

I called the owner later that day to ask... and He was like ... uhhh.. yah sorry I "forgot" there are several people who i have given permission to.

You know, I think this happens more than hunters like/want to admit. There's no doubt that there are people with truly exclusive permission, but there are many instances like this too.

Good luck finding more bone guys! I'm heading out this week for my first walk of the year. Might be a bit late but I'm hoping to find some elk sheds so I waited a little longer than usual to get out.

About a cup of bleach in a bucket of water or hydrogen peroxide will whiten them right up, but the stains and sap are what give them all of their character and in my opinion is part of what makes them so cool, each one is different.

With that being said though, I don't know what your plans are with it either, if you have a craft or something in mind that requires a bleached white antler the above will do the trick.
