Default Wetland Project?

Between Lakeview and South Cooking Lake on the south side of Hwy 14 ...at least a km of floating walkway? Anybody know what it is to be used for?

But why the floating pads. I've been driving past since 1977 and never saw a pipline go in.

An operator is probably using a ohv to drive over the swamp mats as pipelines are checked daily now for any visual leaks.

Seems like a lot of disruption in a very sensitive terrain to check for a leak. A drone sounds like a good option.

Perhaps those are the pads/mat's that they drive on and haven't been removed yet? You can see miles of them evertime they put in a pipeline.

The pads are fairly recent. They run E-W along the highway for several hundred meters and the turn South where you see see in the pic ...and end at a road maybe 400m from where the pic was taken. Guess next time I head to the city, I will check out the view from that road. I have never noticed any ground disturbance (as I said, have been driving past the property since '77). The property was under water until about 10 years ago and remained dry until this spring.
Edit: The wet area you see in the pic was probably once part of South Cooking Lake, and got separated by Hwy 14. I really can't imagine a pipeline being approved in that particular situation.

260, I'm told it has something to do with the power lines that will be routed through the area. All the brushing done on the south side of Hwy 14 along the divided portion is a right of way for the towers to be erected. I'm not sure of the exact path but it will connect with the Lakeview(Joseph Lake) Road where a lot more brushing has occurred and parallel it for a distance. Beyond that, I'm out of the loop.

Lou, that makes sense. I was wondering about all that brushing and the survey stakes.

We have lot of drilling pads going in near my place Trans Mountain have started building the pipeline to Vancouver, I think the greens in BC might be alittle late trying to stop progress and exporting Alberta oil to countries rather than US, also get world price for our oil.
