April 29th - Fish Hawk enjoys a Whitefish in my back yard on the H-pole.

Still lots of ice, it was gone last year on April 15th.

Prowling the backroads around Blackie and Vulcan. Lots of birds today... a Great Horned Owl and two Owlets and a Swainson's Hawk with some breakfast.

Awesome pictures, I just bought a 70X200 lense for my Canon so time to practice. NOw just need better body to catch up to the lense. Storm season is comming and I hope to get out and get some cool shots.
Hope to be as good as some of these photos I have been looking at in this thread.

That's what the Meta Data says (with a D7100). What lense are you shooting if you don't mind? Didn't seem to be on the data.

For that shot I used a Tokina 11-20 f/2.8

flyguyd, nice shot of goose in the hawk nest.
There is one in Calgary nesting in an Osprey nest on top of a pole. Goslings will be flying early

I have found 7 different Great Horned Owl nests this spring, in and around the Blackie/Nanton area. Here's three different nests. I only stay for a minute to take a few quick shots. Staying too long stresses the birds out and risks the parents abandoning the nest.

Amazing camera work over the last 4 pages guys - well done .........

I'm not a camera guy but this is a photo I recently took on Cold lake cruising across the middle of the lake and it looks really cool. I can only image what one of you guys and a decent camera could have captured with this image. This was taken with an i-phone clipping along at 65-70 km/hr

Incredibly beautiful pictures, all of them. I would not want to be a judge and pick the best one.
