Only 14K and 3-yrs is tragic. We don't need people like that up here.

This article here in the sun has a lot more info on what a sick individual this guy is…

http://www.edmontonsun.com/2011/09/1...-fowl-with-law

Why is the world would he only be given a $14,500 fine and a 3 year ban on hunting in Canada…???

Why the hell would he ever be allowed to hunt in this country ever again… what a joke

He is thumbing his nose at the situation, his new call for this year is called the "Crime Scene" he has been picked up by Bigfoot Decoy's full sponsership and has a weekly TV show in the US on waterfowling! Foiles is a very arrogant man and untill we all band together and boycott any and all product's he is endorsing including his own then maybe he will learn that "crime" doesn't pay!!!

At first I was thinking, this really isn't that bad of a sentance for torturing animals. prohibited to hunt for only 3 years? Kick this scum bag out for good. $14k is a good chunk but still. Then I read the American charges strapped onto it. I'm pleased haha. Lets just hope the dirt bag actually gets stuck in there the full 18 year sentance.

Glad to see that nobody is stading up for this guy. I wish they would use him as an example.

Anyone know if he is still being sponsored by Bigfoot Decoys? Maybe they need to know what the consumer thinks about their man.

Cabelas in Edm. has all his Strait Meat calls on sale. I would guess they won't be carrying them anymore.

I personally plan on emailing them and asking.
The man is a dirt bag, plain and simple.

I believe his charges in the USA were felonies. If thats the case, he wont be ever allowed into Canada again after his court proceedings are over. And thats just FINE with me!

I'm not claiming to know its more of a question but with migratory birds falling under Federal Law anything he does results in a criminal record making it near impossible for him to cross the border regaurdless of whether he is eligable to hunt doesn't it? Either way a life time ban seems a little more suitable for someone "visiting" the country.

ha ha... a second to late

His TV show is called "Foiles and the Migrator's" and "Bigfoot Decoy's" are splattered all over it including the DVD cover and what look's to be about a 20' trailer they haul around! I believe as to what i am reading that Jeff himself is not hunting in this season probably due to all the trouble he is but his son Cole is running this show this year!!! It's all on the Foiles web-site and his facebook page so let's all write letter's to Bigfoot and quit buying anything that has Jeff Foiles name on it and he can choke on that in prison!!!

Wow. People like that need help. He obviously does not have any respect for the animals he hunts.

I would not call him a hunter at all... I would call him a killer.

Well in that case I am going to send Cabelas US, Cabelas Canada, and Bigfoot a email. Be interesting to see what their response is.

illegally hunted waterfowl from a powerboat and repeatedly exceeded his maximum daily bag limit and those of his fellow hunters............

Foiles tried to get his cameraman to shoot fowl despite him not having a permit and chuckled on camera while joking about exceeding the bag limits.........

“He regrets this matter from the outset and simply wants to move on...........
I'm sure he didn't know that baiting gees with bread in a City Park and shooting them with a pellet gun for their bands and collars wasn't illegal, I mean it happened in the US so it might have been legal right?

The only thing he regrets is getting caught. How arrogant can you be, naming your call Crimescene.

Hopefully the judge comes down harder on this guy than whats been requested, unfortunately it likely won't happen.

The good news the Judge has the discretion to do whatever she deems reasonable. Perhaps she reads the Forum in her spare time. Just in case, I would suggest a 10 year ban would be more reasonable and a $50,000 fine in my view!! I have defended a few wildlife offences, but nothing as egregious as this. Make an example of the guy.

We as hunters must choose to not support him or his sponsors/TV show. Let him know that he is not one of us by hitting him in the pocket book.

From the Sun article:
During the hunts, Foiles would address the birds by names, including “Mr. Honker” and “Mrs. Mallard,” and he would not immediately dispatch wounded fowl.

He also once held a wounded Canada Goose – brought to him by his dog 24 minutes after he shot it – up for the camera and rubbed its head against his own cheek before eventually breaking its neck.

In another videotaped incident, a laughing Foiles “plays” to the camera while wacking a crippled duck on its beak with his duck call. He also manipulates the body and wings of the wounded bird and then shows it his shotgun and explains that the Benelli was the cause of his demise.

This part of the article really turned my stomach, for a few reasons. I can only imagine what a non-hunter would think reading this. I've never seen any of this loser's videos, never heard of him until all this legal stuff hit the news a while back. Sounds like he's got some real problems between the ears.

I'm assuming that he hunted here under the guidance of an outfitter. In my opinion that outfitter should also be held accountable for the actions of their customers.

He doesn't need a outfitter or a host.
