Default Shotgun ammo

Recently bought an 18" Rem 870 Express and I'm wondering what kind of ammo you guys would recommend for slugs and buckshot? I was sold some slugs, but I just realized that they're actually rifled, while I my barrel is a smoothbore. Any issue with this? Is there a better choice? Thanks!

There's no problem running rifled slugs through that barrel. I think the rifled slugs should travel a little straighter than Sabots would but I'm sure more experienced guy's a gal's here can help you.

Rifled slugs are the right ones to use in a smoothbore (hence the rifling on the slug)

Sabot slugs are made for rifled barrels

Default slugs

I have the same gun. I've found the Remington Sluggers are very accurate.

Keep your gun well-oiled.
