Congrats to all the long terms. Takes true commitment.

Wow. Some of these are truly incredible, and some are real tear jerkers.
I can see how some lose the desire to go on after such a loss.
My wife and I got married fairly late in our relationship and will only be celebrating our 15th this year. Takes commitment and patience for sure.
Luckily our relationship seems to only get stronger with each passing year, and we fight a lot less. The kids seem to unify us for sure.
But it wasn't always rosy. I'd wager that in the first 6 months she said she was leaving, and I said "get out", at least half a dozen times.
So glad we made it through that period.

Nina and I, 50 years come Nov 2024. My grandfather had his last kid of 18, when he was 75. It was his second wife who was 50 years younger than him, first one passed away after 40 years of marriage. My parents unforunately only made 50 years because my father passed young in 1996. My mother is now 98 years old and still misses him everyday, despite it being 28 years later.

My wife and I just had or 27th wedding anniversary. Not too shabby considering we met and got married in just three months. Nobody in our circle gave us a chance really but we proved them all wrong. I could not imagine my life without her and that is the honest truth. She is my world and irreplaceable.

My Mom was fond of telling others - "We've been married 70 YEARS!"
To which I'd respond " WOW - To each other?"
She never thought it was funny, but her audience often did!
When you're living with someone while still married to someone else, and then marry the second one, (once divorced from the first), can you claim the time period waiting for the divorce as 'double-time' ?

When covid hit my wife of 25 years just blindsided me and said I dont love you, never did and you are going to loose everything .Then she laughed at me.
Knocked me right down. I was as good husband and treated her well.
She left me and two troubled kids to put it mildly.
Apparently she met some married guy from thousands of miles away on internet. According to his wife and the texts she showed me these to had this planned out for a long time.
The good Lord blesses people according to their actions. Thank God I dont have that under my roof anymore. Good Lord blessed me with a way better one.
She has been blessed according to her actions.I feel bad for her but never want to see her again.

My great grandparwnts did 65+ years before my great-grandmother died. My grandparents are coming up on 75 years married. My parents are having their 45th anniversary next year. My wife and I just hit 10 years last month.
There.is no divorce in our family. People pick partners wisely.

My wife and I are on 41 years now, and still going strong. The group of friends we hang with are all 40 plus married, when we talk about lasting marriages the same reason it works comes up constantly.
Keeping it simple, warm fires, good meals, and hot coffee. And laugh with a few friends once in a while.

My Wife and I are at our 13th year married. But…we had been together for 24 years before we got married. I’m not sure if that counts(?).
Maybe the only thing our situation counts for, is that we’re getting old.

The divorce rate in Canada is pegged right around 48%, I have 4 brothers and 4 sisters and out of the 9 of us 4 have gone through at least 1 divorce so I guess the family is about average.
In our almost 49 years together the wife and I could have dug in and pulled the pin more than once when you are only thinking about yourself and not the rest of your family, dialogue, concessions and compromise, work through it and carry on.
My dad always said " life's wagon is a tough pull and it takes a dam good team to get it to the finish line "

I was born in Canada but grew up in the States. My Grandparents made it 75yrs and got a card from the President, hand signed note. I think it was Reagan.

I worked down there a couple times. Paul Harvey used to announce his 'tournament of roses' Dang if one time he didn't mention an elderly couple I had worked for. 75 years for them as well

75 years 7 months and 2 days was my grandparents. Grandpa died in covid and Gramma made a couple more years and passed this fall.
Grandpa was born on the farm and died on the farm. About 30 feet from where he was born. Gramma was about 20 years less on that farm.
