Default LeanMean first season. Double whammy

October 9, 2011

James and his uncle walk down a cutline and turn the corner.....and walk into a group of 4 bears. Uncle fired his 444 into the dirt and the bears scatter. James and his uncle recover the bullet from the ground. Kinda neat.

James and his uncle are in an oat field and at last light, this whitetail buck makes his way to 140 yds. James takes him with his Sako A7 in 300 win mag. As James and his uncle are giving high fives, the bear walks into the field.

Ten seconds after taking the deer, James shoots the bear. One shot, head on, right dead centre of the chest.

Not a bad first season so far.

That's a cool way to start out the season. Congrats to the lad. I'm sure all that action made for a busy evening too.

Very impressive!

You're lucky a herd of caribou didn't follow the bear out or you'd all be out there dressing and hauling till Christmas.....
