Default Whitetail doe down

I set up this morning in a ground blind on one of our most productive properties. Got it set up where thick forest on a bush quarter opens up into semi open poplars/spruce trees. At 9:10am a whitetail ran through the opening in front of the blind. No idea what spooked it, but if was flagging and running from something. By the time I got my gun up, I could see it in the crosshairs, but it was still running and the trees were pretty thick. About 5 seconds later another flagging whitetail came running through the same spot. I had my gun ready from the first deer, so I picked the first opening in front of her and luckily for me she stopped right in my crosshairs. I let a 130 grain Hornady out of the .270 Win go and watched the two deer run along the ridge. The trees were pretty thick so I never had much of a shooting lane. It was only a 100 yard shot offhand, so I had pretty good confidence in the shot. I waited around for a couple minutes then unzipped the blind and walked over to where they were. Found the tracks in the snow and found just little specks of blood here and there. After tracking for 75 yards I found her.

Thanks, I sat in the same spot this morning and seen another big doe with a fawn. Still have my antlered mule deer draw, but never had any mule deer walk out today. Going hunting again the long weekend.
