Shot a five point bull south of beaver mine at the adanac on Friday. With another bull and 7 cows. Hunting partner shot a cow in 306. Seen lots of elk south of hill crest at lost. Need more snow to bring them out of the hills.

I found an elk herd with a legal bull on opening morning in 305, the legal bull was 250m inside private land I didn't have permission on, so I watched the herd for an hour hoping they would hop the fence and come my way to bed in the forest (no luck cow calling trying to entice the bull my way). While watching the herd, a couple hunters ride up on horseback, see the herd and shoot the bull right in front of me. They had permission, it was neat to see but sucky for me. Yes, it was a zoo there.

So was the other bull with the group not legal then or did you only have one tag? How come you didn't shoot the 2nd bull as well?
