Default BC Closure's Lifted

Just heard from a buddy that they have lifted the access ban's in the Rocky Mountain Forest District as of yesterday afternoon. It's a little late for my Elk hunt plans in the Kootney's, but I remember there were other members (some from the area) that might still be able to take advantage of the special Elk season that I think ends on the 19th.

Default BC Closures

There is a lot more detail to this. Off highway vehicles are still prohibited on or off any roads. More info can be found on the BC fires website. There is a good FAQ section with detailed regulations and definitions.

As a local, today I was distressed seeing vehicle tracks on roads with tall grass in the middle strip...against regulation as spelled out on the website and against common sense.

Yes we seen this as well actually the whole road was tall grass, but the tracks were made during the ban for there was some that were exempt from the ban
from what I understand.

We will probably never know who made those tracks. I'm just glad that no new fire's happened in your area, and that the access ban's have been lifted.
