Default My hunting days are over opinions on selling methods

I have a ton of gear and a couple of guns to liquidate and a couple to keep but there's a ton of clothes range finders bullets boots shooting sticks etc etc what would be the best way to sell all this stuff?Have a hunter garage sale minus the guns and ammo put it all in mini lots.Ask people what there looking for and they can email.Im just wondering on opinions I don't want to deal with millions of emails and pms and posting a ton of pictures or should I try the hole lot for one price which seems not very un reasonable.I appreciate the input.Fishing has consumed my life now and re building boats so I would like to invest the $ in that.WHen I do make a decision on this stuff the prices will be fair but I'm not selling like I'm poor lol please no pms at this time.thanks

Default Gear is very personal and sized so tough unless similar size

I have bought like new shooting vests, coats parkas and such from similar sized people but I think it would be extraordinary luck to find a person same size that would want or need to take everything across the board in equipment.

Send me a pm of all the guns you have for sale first.....
I would just list them here and get ready for the on slot of pms. If it is a good deal everything will sell within a couple hours.

Get ready for a flood of people low balling you on your items. I'd make a list, with firm prices. Put it up on here and other hunting sites.

It'll be pretty hard to find one person to take it all. You could post an add for a hunting gear garage sale in the buy and sell, list items & prices. Seeing as you are in a big city I'd bet most of it would be sold within hours

Good luck with that venture bud.

Yes.

Make up your list, set your price so it works for you and the buyer.

You might not get top dollar for some stuff as you probably know, but at least the masses will dwindle down.

Sorry to hear your winding down, but it is each of us that knows when it's time.
At least your keeping the good times, that's what really counts.

Post firm, fair prices with clear ground rules.

Ignore the low ballers and time wasters.

Money in hand before anything leaves.

Good luck !!

Stuff sells REALLY fast on AO and CGN if it is reasonably priced. Make a list of your stuff, take pictures of the more expensive gear and post it on here and CGN. You will sell it faster than you can believe. IGNORE the low ballers, they are always the first to respond. I always answer them politely but shortly thereafter the item sells for FULL ask, as long as I got the price fairly close t o right.

I have sold 8 items in the last two weeks, from guns to scope to bullets and reloading gear, all sold at full ask and ALL attracted low ballers as the first bids, even though the items were more than fairly priced.

All the Best.

Find an auction with a lot of outdoor stuff and take it there, and be done with it in one day. No dealing with low ballers, people coming to look and not buy anything. Some stuff will sell high, some low, but it's gone with minimal time investment.

I am actually in a pretty similar situation where my hunting interest has waned significantly and my fishing interest has peaked. I just bought a $50,000 boat and a few thousand in accessories and gear but I wont part with my hunting gear, at least not the minimum I want to have for occasional forays. Put it away. I have been down this path before with other interests only to have an interest again a few years later and found myself having to replace it all at much more than originally bought for and much, much more than sold off at! You already have made the investment, its not costing you a dime for it to sit unused.

Me to at buying and selling as I flip flop on interest.

My collection is sorted with the limited as it cost me nothing having it on hand.

The odd game harvest, plinking, camping, quading, relaxing and visiting.

My fishing dream is slow getting going, but I remember where that box is if I get it going.

Either way you will decide what needs doing.

Good luck at your next adventures.

Don

I agree, set fair prices, decide for yourself right up front if you are firm on your prices or if you're open to offers, maybe on multiple items, etc... and advertise as such, regardless of which you choose. Avoid conflicting, confusing ads, just be clear up front and you'd be surprised how smooth it goes. I've seen ads with a listed asking price followed by OBO, then below it says no lowballers. A bit confusing because if you're open to offers, how is someone supposed to know what you would consider a reasonable offer vs. a lowball.
