Default how you spend your cash

not wanting to hijack another thread any further, im proposing an interesting theory.
great uncle Gabby Johnson from Rock Ridge passes away and leaves you some money....and stipulates the money HAS to be spent on firearms and there is no cash settlement...
If you HAD to spend say...$5000 on a centerfire rifle(s) and your using it (or them) for whatever blows your hair back...what would you prefer to do?

aim for as many different bargain basement specials as possible?
or budget to build one higher end unit with benchrest style actions, big glass etc,..., or try and get one from each basic caliber 223, a 270 and 338 for example.

RULES:
-lets not count ammo or reloading equipment, but gun(s) must be ready to shoot, peeps, scoped, bipods, rings/ bases, etc.
- your mythical quest must be new or over-the-counter type, (custom built stuff built from unobtainium and used prices are just too subjective)
-lets not count shotguns, rimfires, rocklocks, tasers

for me Id prefer one gun as opposed to a few
probably a weatherby or BAT action, titanium pin, jewel trigger, carbon fiber ultralite stock, zeiss/ swaro 30 mm tubed glass, conetrol rings, after market barrel in 257STW, fully bedded floated and worshiped.
so i guess that would be fairly close to the $5G mark

Can't do it - mainly because I'd likely sell it next year!

Okay here goes:

.17 HMR in a Savage or Marlin

458 Lott in a Ruger Mark II

340 WBY in an Accumark

270 WSM in a Vanguard Sub MOA

Should be able to work a deal with the gun dealer to put those all in the safe for $5000. Optics etc can come latter.

My choice would be.
One custom made gun that obviously was made fo me. I would want a stoch fitter involved and everything.

Or I could get a middle of the road trap gun.
