Smile My rabbit can kick your dogs butt

This is Lola, she's about 20lbs and is over three feet long when she stretches out and has 3/4" claws. She is a French Lop and there isn't any fat on her at all, this is how big she is supposed to be. The Dew Lap under her chin is just a large mass of fur and is for protection against predators, used for scenting as well as makes a great built in pillow for napping. For a size comaparison I'm 5' 9" and around 230lbs. As for what she'd do to your cat I can't post or else I'd probably get a time out from the forum No this photo has not been photo shopped in any way. It took me long enough just to figure out how to post pictures here so photo shop is currently out of my realm of computing skills

I think I have a recipe for that critter.
Just kidding

Hassenpfeffer German Rabbit Stew
Ingredients

* 1 large or 2 small rabbits, cleaned, skinned, and cut into pieces shopping list
* Marinade: shopping list
* 1/2 c. red-wine vinegar shopping list
* 1 1/2 c. water shopping list
* 1 c. dry red wine (I prefer a beaujolais to a heavier burgundy) shopping list
* 1 large or 2 medium onions, thinly sliced shopping list
* 1 t. salt shopping list
* 1 t. dry mustard shopping list
* 1 t. ground pepper shopping list
* 1 T. pickling spices shopping list
* 4 whole cloves shopping list
* 2 bay leaves shopping list
* flour, seasoned with salt and pepper shopping list
* 4 T. clarified butter shopping list
* sugar (start with 1 T.) shopping list
* 3 T. flour shopping list
* 1/2 c. sour cream shopping list
* 1/2 c. heavy cream shopping list

How to make it

* Mix the marinade, bring to a boil, then simmer for an hour. Cool to room temperature. Marinate the rabbit for at least a day (two is better).
* Remove the rabbit pieces and dry them. Dredge them in the seasoned flour and brown in the butter on all sides. Strain the marinade and add it to the rabbit, cover tightly, and simmer for an hour. Remove the rabbit and place on a serving platter.
* Add 1 T. sugar to the broth and taste. Add additional sugar if necessary to get the balance of sweet and sour you prefer. Blend the 3 T. flour with the cream and sour cream and add it, stirring constantly, cooking for a couple of minutes to thicken and remove the flour taste. Add salt and pepper to taste, pour over the rabbit, and serve.

Right on, I have been waiting for the Lola bunny thread.

And, for comparison, another pic of Dave. He is not a little guy.

So does it just lay in that litter box all day long? If so It reminds me of BB416.

On a more serious note, that thing is a hawg!
Can't say I have seen one like it before.

Lola actually spends a lot of time out of her cage, she's out anywhere from 5 to 10 hours a day. She's an indoor bunny and we spend most of our time on the floor with her when she's out

That is a huge rabbit!!!
I have heard that a rabbit can flip on its back and rip open a pred stomach with its back claws. Hate to see what this one can do!

Default Awesome!!

I love it!!!!

We have rabbits as well but they are much smaller. I've always wanted a huge bunny but needless to say Noah's ark is full!

Do you know any "bunny whisperers" My one bunny is mean and I may end up putting it down.

I know this is a hunting/fishing forum but please no comments about how to put it down. This is my kids' pet (although after it bit me I'm sure I could've shot it myself).

Thanks for sharing the pics

Let's just say she's really really strong, she can clear a couch in one leap. My first rabbit was 5lbs more than Lola and let's just say any cats that tried to get at her never came back into the yard and their owners would have had one heck of a vet bill

Is Lola a show rabbit? Do you have her bred?

Nice Green Paint in the background with the pretty model taking a picture with you two.

I don't mean you or Ken when I say pretty model.

We've never shown her, we got her as a pet from a breeder that does show French Lops. We've never had any litters from her, she did have nine other brothers and sisters in her family. The pretty model is Mrs Mudbug

So Mudbug, after of course comparing the two pictures, what you are saying then is that Lola is not only the same size as Ken's mustache, but is the toughest thing produced by the french since week old croissants?

Nope you won't win this one unless you remind them that it's not chocolate candy that bunnies leave around behind them

Then again they make wonderful pets.............

You've got it wrong. Lola isn't the size of Ken's moustache, she's the size of Ken's toupée.

Is she pretty tame then? Is that a quality in her breed?

Our two (mini lop and a lop/mini rex cross) are friendly but I would not use the term "cuddly".

The third is a devil child. Really cute but mean!

Is she litter trained? how is the chewing situation?

I had no idea rabbits came that big until I was at the Spokane Interstate Fair a few weeks back... I don't know the breed but your "bunny" woulda fit right in with some of those buggers! How much does she eat!!!!!
