Buddy told me tent caterpillars are unbelievably bad up there ? Haven't heard anything in the Media

Thanks for posting Buck...I consider this type of thread one of the best these outdoor forums produce.

Although I own a trail cam I have often heard some are a 'home made' setup...care to share further details (your pics are as detailed as any I've seen)?.

you open up a point and shoot cam and solder wires to the power and shutter points on the camera at the same time hook up to the power suply on the camera so you can add extra batteries to run the camera longer close it up and hook it up to a control board

Thanks for that. I was very curious because your pics show animals that are very relaxed and unaware...kudos for the rig that can capture multiple shots and not alert the critters whatsoever. Not all trail cams can say that.

real nice pics! the tent catapillers are all around whitecourt last week in the chopper they have a huge area chewed up

I'd love to try and make such good use of an old camera sitting around home. Perhaps a thread like an "intructable" on building such a camera would be well received here? ? ?

hard to do so as all cams are diff in doing the (hack) diff solder points

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing them with us. Good work on the set up too. That clarity beats anything I've seen in awhile. Would be a great idea for yard security too. Could actually be used to identify people.
