Default elk

Valleyview has 10 times as many elk as 352 north of Hinton. If you have 10 years to get your elk try Hinton or any other foothills WMU. I hunted 352 almost 50 years ago was good zone before we had very high number of hunters and enormous wolf population.

They issue around 1600 cow elk tags in 521 and at least that many deer tags. There is more hunters than animals by far in 521.

Default 521

They may issue a lot of cow tags for 521. I get a cow tag every second year. But I disagree with too many hunters. I was out there for a week starting on opening day on and never seen another hunter..... Tagged out on a 6 by 6 on day 1 and a cow and calf on day two. And just reminding you that it is general in 521. And if you have permission in certain areas around the simonette there are some big bulls there. Do some legwork and get some permission on some private land, with farmland bordering crown land . But now deer is a different story I didn't see one whitetail in 7 days out there.

next season for sure we are gonna check out a few areas , and try and get permission. elk is new to us as we have always hunted moose in 512 , but with all the new comers to alberta its getting way harder to get a tag anymore so elk is in . i hope 352 pans out this year cause we weren't planning to hunt private land so we didnt do any scouting at all. thanks for all the replies guys.
