Road conditions between Hwy 11 and 16 / 620 and 753

I have to go to Edson next week and was thinking that instead of taking 22 from Rocky Mountain House to Drayton Valley to get up to 16 I could take 11 West and then take 620 North through Lodgepole and 753 to get to 16 to see something new.
I've never been up there and don't know the road conditions and was wondering if it's ok to drive with a 4x4 SUV in winter. Has anyone been up there recently and knows the conditions? The 511 website says it's a gravel road but I wonder if it's graded/plowed or deep snow and ice ruts and a slow bumpy ride.
