Default Hunting in Saskatchewan

What are the regs for hunting big game in Sask as an AB resident? I'm moving close to the AB SK border and I'm used to hunting on the opposite side of Alberta which will no longer be feasible.

Can you hunt deer, elk, or moose without a guide? I realize I can read the guide but just wondering from others experience if it would be worth the trouble?

The regs in Saskatchewan have changed a lot in recent years. We as AB residents now have to put in for a draw for whitetails in Saskatchewan, and you have to pick 3 choice WMUs and they draw you for whatever. As far as I know, that is all we can hunt in Saskatchewan without a hunter host or guide. It's definitely worth it to check out the regs.

No mule deer or elk for non residents, moose with a guide, and non residents are required to draw a tag to hunt whitetailed deer. You are too late for the 2015 draw.

Canadian residents with blood relatives in SK are given top priority in the whitetail draw.

You can hunt Mule Deer, Elk, Antelope and Caribou with a guide in Saskatchewan as well.

Just have to know which outfitters offer these hunts

And you will be hunting on a game farm, or on an Indian reservation , outside of the normal sport hunting regulations.

That's right, different Indian reservations offer hunts for non-residents all over Saskatchewan. Awesome hunts for huge mule deer, elk, antelope as well as caribou up north.

I was just pointing out that non-residents can and do hunt these animals all over Saskatchewan, lot's of people are led to believe this doesn't happen.
