Default Holiday Poking .....

Do you remember the old days when watching (on Shaw Cable) the "holiday fireplace"? ...... you never saw the "poker".

Ah, yes, there were rumours of such a poker, even fleeting glimpses witness by few lucky people, but the holiday fireplace poker was rare.

It was special, real special ..... some heard of the fable of the "poker" ....... but even fewer still would testify to it's existence.

It was like a unicorn.

Not any ... unicorn a golden unicorn.

Now, instead of the old 6 hour video where only a fleeting glimpse or two, for several seconds at most revealed the fable, SHAW has shortened the loop to include "more poker guy".

So now, any and every Joe Freaking Blow will witness the holiday poker in action.

It's no longer a unicorn ..... it's a house cat.

It's not a poke or two ...... it's more blue oyster cult cow bell.

It's no longer special ..... it's a *****.

Shaw has ruined the holidays. Congratulations Shaw.

On Bell satellite there is no longer any music on the fireplace channel due to music copyrights. Bah humbug!

I like it without music. We have a gas fireplace but I like the crackling on the TV one.

This thread disappoints.

I thought it was going to be about getting lucky at Christmas.

On Telus satellite the log channel had a setting for music, or cracking fire.
No more music this year.
Boo!

They should have the fella using a metal poker to poke an electric fireplace. Now I’d watch that!

Last week someone told me that there’s a donair one where you watch donair meat turning on a spit roasting. I wonder if the meat sizzles and pops. Must be on Omni or the Punjabi channel I guess.

I was lucky enough to witness the thanksgiving special a few years ago.......
It was a turkey sizzling in an oven, and every now and then a turkey baster would make an appearance and drizzle juices on that brown bird hahahah

What a time to be alive......
