Default Self Guided Fly in Moose Hunt??!!!

I was reading the article on the AO webpage about the flyin moose trip. Has anyone done something like this? It really has my interest and if I start planning now I think I might attempt to do a trip next fall. Any tips beyond what was covered in the article would be great.

Hi Sparky, we're leaving on Sept. 20!
This will be our 7th trip with Andrew Lake Lodge and Reliance Airways to our sacred hunting spot. Our area has been on fire since mid-July, and still smoldering, so not sure what to expect this year. Calcanrick and one of his friends will also be doing their first trip with Dan, this year, so there should be some reports on here in early October. This is a great trip, and we go for two weeks every year. The cost is pretty reasonable, considering that you don't spend any money the whole time that you are in the bush. All of our moose that we have gotten there, have been called in, so make sure that you know how to call moose. Any specific questions, please ask.

Depends on distance and how much gear you have.

I think next fall I will try through Andrew lake Lodge to get a feel for the area. The following year we might hire a pilot, find a location and set up camp on our own. Of course it won't intrude on any of the hunting outfitters up there but no point paying them if we don't need to.
