It’s raining, so I think I’ll do some reloading for the 6.5x55 Swede. Some 156 Mega and 140 Naturalis. Bear season is almost here. Not sure which one I’ll use yet.

One of each or close your eyes when you load your gun and be surprised.

^ it just tells you that this forum runs on some pretty outdated software and is in need of an urgent update. But it has been this way since I joined almost two years ago. If it didn’t run on good server, it would disappear a while back with constant crashing and other problems, IMO.

Why I really came to this thread is to ask the following. I just posted a thread and the word “p i s s” was stared out in the “pi$$ of rain” I wrote. Is it really a “bad” or an offensive or otherwise inappropriate word that shouldn’t be used in a normal conversation? Just genuinely wondering. Never thought it was.

#1 Fun Fact of the day:

Driving someone else's car may or may not mess with your speed senses causing
you to think your doing speed limit.

#2 Fun fact of the day:

Going 124km/hr passed a Cop over the crest of a hill will "net a $310 fine + 3 Demerit points"
is what the kind officer said to me today as he sent me on my way with just a "slow it down".

The wife and I are at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park for a few days. Why have I never been here before? It's gorgeous.
Might sell some internal organs and buy a vacation home here.

You should have told them it was brain worms and dug in.

in some people common sense prevails even in most difficult circumstances.

CBC: Proposed handgun ban is 'nonsense' that doesn't address roots of violence, says Toronto mother

Quote:
...

What do you want to see from police and governments when it comes to putting an end to this kind of gun violence?

I want them to address the Roots of Youth Violence [report]. It's imperative.

It recommends positive youth spaces. It recommends trauma counselling and trauma supports to all the communities and victims, which is very difficult to find.

The education system needs to have smaller class sizes.

We need to stop suspending the students and expelling the students for the behaviours that they're displaying and take an actual positive approach to finding what the underlying issues are that that child is dealing with and stop sending them out into the street for the street to then embrace them.

So, I mean there's so many different aspects of it and no one is acting on it.

As you know, this is an issue that all three levels of government have been talking about and promising to address. In Ottawa today, Canada's Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction, Bill Blair, said many measures must be taken to reduce gun violence and that a handgun ban may be one of those. Ms. Fox was your son killed by a handgun?

Yes.

And so what is your take on the idea of a handgun ban?

I think that it is nonsense. I think that it doesn't matter if there's a handgun ban, like street level wise, because they'll get access to the handguns anyways.

We live beside the border of the biggest manufacturing gun place in the world.

As long as we live beside that border and there is no commonsense regulation there those firearms are just going to be in greater demand and they'll get access to those.

Yes, I hear what some of the survivors are saying in terms of, you know, ban the handguns, at least they won't have handguns here to be able to steal and access. But, I mean, we haven't even tried to address the roots of violence.

I think that the ban is an overreaction, especially when we know that they'll still be accessing the firearms and it will not deter them from using them.

Those are your calls to the governments. What is your call to us, your fellow Canadians?

To step up and and get involved. I mean, if you think that you're exempt from a stray bullet, you're not. I can attest to that.

My son was a hardworking person. He was a dedicated father and he went out for a night of fun.

At 26 years old, we should be able to go to a club and and be safe and enjoy ourselves. I know that I did.

So get involved. Ask the political leaders to do their jobs.

^ disturbing stuff!

Came here to say that the honkers are back. Have been hearing them here and there in peace country for a couple of weeks now. Kind of sad on hand; summer flew by pretty fast. Hunting season is pretty damn close on the other

I inspected my still fairly new shingles on my roof yesterday & seen the damage that my roof rake did in the valley. No more roof raking snow for me, also seems to have removed abit of the granules on the straight sections too.

Not one of my pic's .... but a good one of the Sylvan Lighthouse.

The WaterEdge Marine is privately owned and this year they jacked the launch price up to $100.00/cash & still have people paying to use it.

Edit ... the condo's sell for $450K that may include a boat slip or the dock-o-minium, they were selling between $75 to $90K.

D.

One more nice pic ..... of our new sign.

I’ve liked this thread since it started!
Haven’t had a drink in almost three months but I’m having a couple beers today. The second beer isn’t sitting well so I doubt I’ll get an infraction or banned this evening. Geese... I’ve got more infractions on my account than i can count! I wonder if this deserves an award of some kind?

It sure was nice to get out to the indoor range today and lay down some rounds with the smallbore match rifle!
No idea why , but for several years our range was not certified for rifle, just rim fire and center fire pistol!
Nobody could give me an answer why and our new prez made sure that with our new certification this year that rifles were included!

Pretty good ride. In some spots you'd think he'd want a bike with narrower handlebars.
