Alberta Fights back
Bill 211, legislation that asserts Alberta rights when it comes to firearm laws, has PASSED.
This law creates a firewall against Ottawa's out of touch policies that punish law-abiding firearm owners while doing nothing to tackle illegal guns smuggled in the country and keep criminals off our streets.
The Liberal law, Bill C-21, stretched its hands into provincial jurisdiction by giving municipalities new powers to legislate on firearms. Bill 211 strongly pushes back, protects Alberta rights, and stands up for law-abiding firearm owners.
No surprise. The NDP were in unison with the Trudeau Liberals and voted against it.
We want to thank you for your support and your principled stand against the Trudeau Liberals and their out of touch regulations that do nothing to protect our streets while punishing those who follow the rules.
If you haven't already, make sure to add your name if you think we are heading in the right direction in our push back against Ottawa and share with everyone you know.
We won't stop working to defend Alberta's rights and standing up for our law-abiding firearm owners.

In 1982 the Charter of Rights and the Constitution Amendment Act did not recognize Municipalities as legal entities.
Municipalities are the creature of PROVINCIAL Statute. Not Federal jurisdiction at all.
As such, it is an easy fix to legislate jurisdiction under the Municipal Government Act.

X2, I think people questioning anything out of the ordinary that the government is trying to spin these days is a good thing....

Bill C-21 (Federal) allows cities, municipalities to ban firearms. Bill 211 (Alberta) denies cities and municipalities to unilaterally ban firearms.

A step in the right direction would be a movement towards separation!

Might reconsider voting for the UPC if Bill 211 works in favour of firearms owners. A glimmer of hope left for freedom.

Bills and Laws
Any MP or MLA can place a Bill on the order paper. The clerk will give it a number. Unless it (the bill) is supported by the government it will never become law. The Alberta one has a very high number and it will not get debated before the house rises for the summer and all bills not passed (die on the order paper).
So this kind of politicking is for our bennifit.

The 3rd reading was voted on and passed on April 8th
"At the provincial level, a bill that has passed third reading goes to the Lieutenant Governor for Royal Assent. Once Royal Assent is given, the bill has become a fully passed, and is now referred to as an act or statute"
Don't forget who appointed the Alberta Lieutenant Governer, just wondering if there might be some sort of stalling for Royal Assent, only time will tell

Royal Assent
I wouldn't worry about that, if it got 3 rd. reading, it will be signed. I'm no constitutional expert but there may be an argument over jurisdiction between the province and the feds. We'll see I guess
