Default Snow geese 2021

Snow geese by the 10,000's between Vermillion & 30km or so past Maidstone yesterday afternoon and evening... even more the gaggles on the ground were huge and dotted across the landscape when you start glassing ... there were times when the horizon was full of skein's (did I say that right?) ... the bonus was a large plump of teal descending to water... April 11/21

South of Lloydminster last night also, 1/2 section was full, looked like it snowed, was hardly a spot big enough to land and the sky was full of snows circling waiting to land

Default Fun day in the field

First time trying to decoy Snows. Been decoying Canadas for years but this snow hunt racket is a much different monster for sure. Fun as hell, met some great land owners, tested my shooting ability on long shots and ended up being a great day in the field.

Ended up with 11 geese (1 blue - first ever) no bands and hunted over 168 silo's with a cheap e-caller (that only worked for half the hunt). We really only had 5-6 shot opportunities as they came in very large groups. Long shots so the 3.5" shells came in handy. Shoulder a little sore this morning

They are moving north fast so get out there and blast them!

Snow geese numbers all dried up since last week...seeing mostly groups of 20 - 70 and very few of them. These smaller groups are primarily seen near water... all the weeks prior had great numbers
