Default Savage mark ii scope mounting

So I was gifted a savage mark ii a few years back. I am getting around to putting a scope on it finally and can’t figure out what scope rings to use. Does not have holes for a weaver type rail. Just had two slots with parallel lines. I have a scope but no way to mount it.

Anyone know of mounts that can go with this?

You need some dovetail rings.
Any gun store should have them.

It does need dovetail rings, it is NOT 19MM as that is just short of an inch. The groove is a standard 3/8" dovetail. In metric about 9.5 MM. If you look really close it may also be tapped with the screw holes filled with filler screws. If that is true, after removing the filler screws, you can use standard Weaver bases. Cabelas will have Burris dovetail rings, that is what I would use on it as the plastic inserts keep from marking the scope and can bbe used if you need to adjust scope alignment. If you need more help, PM me your phone number and I will call you.
