Mule Deer
I have a small mule deer population where i hunt and every year, especially during hunting season i can guarantee to see 8 -10 mule deer doe's plus fawns & ill see them almost every day more often then whitetail even tho there is more whitetail, there is fawns every year, but i rarely see mule deer bucks at all, i got a small 2x2 the other year, & i will get these mule deer all over my trail camera's & maybe see 1 or 2 pictures of one small buck a spiker or a little bigger if im lucky, but no mature bucks whatsoever, so my question there has to be mature bucks impregnating these doe's right? or could it be these little guys who are max 2 year olds? If there is mature mule bucks which i think there are a handful they are the most elusive and never seen. Any tips on finding or attracting these guys?
oh i should add hunting area is mostly bush, i see them most in the spaced out spruce forests or crossing the gravel roads but they obviously move around threw everywhere, there is open area and cutlines, back roads no farmer field hunting i do really
