Default Wabamun Boat Launch Etiquette

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here but...
My family has a cabin on the south central side of Wabamun right beside the boat launch there, and a couple weekends ago a group of grown men were caught taking sh*ts right on the side of the launch which backs onto peoples properties, not only do peoples children and grandchildren play in and around that boat launch but peoples animals do too. Just this winter, a neighbor of ours dog went in that bush beside the boat launch and dragged out used toilet paper.. GROSS.
So I just have to say, I understand when nature calls but its an embarrassment that not even 10 minutes down Township Rd 542A there's a provincial park with bathrooms, or go to a gas station on Highway 16. Stop being ignorant and disrespectful to peoples property which they use year round, I don't want to be scared to let my dog run lose resulting in her getting into someone's nasty used toilet paper. Don't give bad names to hard water fishers.
Rant end.

That's pretty nasty. Perhaps a boat launch outhouse would be a good idea? Maybe bring it up at a board meeting or something. I would imagine there could be provincial resources available for such. Just a thought.

Not only that. Why would you let your dog run around by it self.
I would never just let my dog have the run of the mil
and remember folks have your pets spayed and neuter
(But he's right about how nasty those people are)

Agreed - I'm sure 99% of the guys already have a 5 gal pail and a couple trash bags with their fishing stuff anyways.

Gross, lazy and ignorant as far as I'm concerned.

Ya, no one wants to see that or have your dog come back stinking cause they rolled in it

Ever been to the island on the west end of Fawcett lake. Took the kids there to explore years ago. Got 10 steps in and went back to the boat. It is crap island with all the TP piles in there lol.

the launch is 10 yards away from the yard of my cabin and we go for walks, and I take her ice fishing out there

These are also good for something more conventional:

(you can also buy the seat separately if you have the bucket)

ideal for female guests ice fishing. For liquid waste, heavy duty contractor bags, and put some kitty litter in first to line the bottom, and sprinkle some more litter on after each evacuation. Tie up the bag at the end of the day and dispose of appropriately.

You can store everything in the bucket, easy to cleanup, no smell and the correct height and the tent is your privacy.

Totally agree with you. What they did was gross. I would also hope that you don't let your dog run loose and that you bring a poop bag along as well. I don't think any of us think it's ok to leave crap lying around unless it's from wild animals.

I practice the same etiquette with my dog whether it be at a dog park, ice fishing, or at a friends place. Doggy bags are always in my tackle box if I bring her!
