Default Range finder

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a range finder that will work well out 800 yrds? My budget its topped out at 400. Is there anything decent in that price range?

Agreed a used Leica. I’ve been using a LRF 800 for probably ten years and unless it’s raining or foggy it doesn’t miss anything. A few months ago I picked up a used LRF 900 scan model for $250 for a guy I work with. Poke around and you’ll find something in your price range.

Thanks, I have read some threads in the past about leica's. I am always sceptical on buying any thing electronics that is used. Maybe it is worth it

I bought a used Leica LRF 800 about 6 years ago and it has never failed me. Got it for $200. If u can find one I would not hesitate.

1300 is optimistic effective range on reflective targets.....so unless you are a Special Ops Sniper on a hard target interdiction mission.....taking out engine blocks, fuel tanks, missile launchers etc....as a typical deer hunter you might want to concern yourself more with the non-reflective target effective range of 600y.....just sayn.😜

Have a look at the Sig Sauer Kilo line of rangefinders....you’ll pay a few bucks more for quality(as always) but they are actually effective up to and often beyond their advertised effective range on soft targets.

Well, I picked up the vortex from profit river. It was a good price. It is within my budget and like one of the guys stated already, 600 yrds will do fine.

Plus I like the red cross hairs

Agreed. I actually first purchased at bass pro then returned it so I could get that good deal from Prophet River. Very happy it was within the return window haha.
