Not to derail the thread, but is orange jacket and headgear adequate or does one need head to toe hunter orange? Thanks.

If it does effect it, I sure hope they do something in compensation for our draws in that zone, ei. Transfer to another zone, another year, priorities back...

Remember the hunt is a privilege not a right and it can be cancelled or cut short at any time....that is the prerogative of the hunt organizers.

Too soon to worry about the state of a hunt when the state of the Country is at stake IMHO....

Nothing specific at Wainwright, but with the attacks on Canadian Soldiers, all Canadian Military bases are on higher alert.

I wouldn't say our Country is at stake.

From the draw booklet..
"military use is paramount"
if they cancel it, I would assume that is the end of the story...

Dan- I am in Lacombe and also am going up for the PW season, solo so far, but would much rather team up with another responsible shooter. (doing deer)
My name is Steve and my number is 403-348-9155. If you are interested give me a buzz and we can share some ideas.

A few points:

Min of a saftey vest for blaze orange
645 first brief
Non-hunters area allowed but must stay with the hunter at all times.

A few things have changed from last week. The main gate is now manned. Please be prepared for a delay and to have all your info ready. If you show up late and unprepared at the gate don't expect to get to the first brief! It took me 10-15mins to get thru the gate yesterday and that isn't with 200+ strangers showing up.

Be happy that we still have access and be respectful at the gates.

CFB Gagetown has closed to public access.

https://www.facebook.com/CanadianFor...185589?fref=nf

RESTRICTIONS ON RECREATIONAL USE OF BASE GAGETOWN RANGE AND TRAINING AREA
In light of the recent acts of violence against members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), 5th Canadian Division Support Base (5 CDSB) Gagetown has increased its security measures.
Effective immediately, use of the Base Gagetown Range and Training Area for recreational purposes, including all hunting activities, will not be permitted until further notice.
Safety and operational concerns are paramount and the main consideration in all decisions related to recreational use of the Range and Training Area.
We acknowledge that this precaution may be disappointing to some but we thank the public for their understanding and support.

You guys are going to camp Wainwright for the 2014 season?
Better hurry.
Can you pick up something from wholesale sports for me on your way back?
