Default Aliant powders, specifically rl 19 and 22

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind as I'm starting to run low on my stocks of reloaded powders, I shoot reloader 19 in my 270ai with 130 grain Barnes as well as my 340 weatherby with 210 and 225 grain Barnes. I've tired load development with imr 4350 and neither liked it.

I also shoot a 7 rem mag that I load rl 22 and 140 grain Barnes that I've tried load development with imr 7828 and no luck either. I'm just wondering what else some of the guys on here might suggest as a substitute for these Aliant powders as I spent about 2 hrs on the phone this morning calling across the country with no luck finding any of either. Thx

I've used H1000 in my 7mm mag using 140 Barnes. In my 270 weatherby I use 7828

IMR 4831, H4831 should work well.

I tried IMR4831 but with heavier bullets. I found that the loads got too hot before I reached the velocity I wanted. Also tried it in 300 wsm and again it was not as good as RL22. Close but not as good. Tried retumbo as well. Got good velocity but I was pushing pressure. Too bad H870 is no longer available. There all all kinds to try but a person could go bankrupt till one figures out what works best.

FWIW, these may be worth a try .. http://www.imrpowder.com/rifle.html
I am using IMR 4166 with excellent results in .243 Win,.35 Whelen and 9.3 x 62 . Based on my findings with 4166. Enduron 7977 might be a good bet for your Mag.

I was at the Brandon gun show today. There were quite a few alliant powders there, even some big jugs of them. They had r-33 R-26 R-19 for sure. That was at Rayner-shine. They have a website and will ship stuff as well.

Awhile back I phoned all over the country, no one had any R22. Found a couple lbs here and there, then a friend of mine was looking for some retumbo. I asked what he had to trade, he said he would trade me 4 lbs of R22 for 4 lbs of retumbo. I should have enough now for a few years.

I bought 5lbs of R22 from Rusty Wood TC in Mission BC 2 weeks ago.
So I should be good for a while.
