Bulls more often than not, have a slightly forked tail and not flat like the (antinomically incorrect) illustration in our Alberta Fishing regulations.
The "spot" pattern on splake is very different based on the very few places we catch splake out west here. Splake is a Brook/Lake Trout Hybrid (Char family) same as bulls.
But ....this is 100%, pure bull .... nothing I see here says splake to me. Dorsal spots are present on Splake - dorsal spots are never found on bulls. This one has clean fins with no spots ....
