Default Help on Value of older Rem 40xb Benchrest

Fellow called me to see if I was interested buying his Rem 40xb in .308 win.
He bought this gun from my brother many years ago 40 years ago.
My brother sold it him with only 450 rounds fired, he has only fired 10 rounds since buying it from my brother.
I bore scoped barrel its pristine no fire-cracking at throat, no copper in rifling and muzzle is great. The gun is in exceptional condition it would be almost 100% except for small mark near heel and to the fact my brother had a professionally done of a gloss finish to protect gun from Hoppes getting into wood will cleaning it has a 2oz trigger .My brother shot a.5 shot .552" group at 200 yards,
He said make me a offer, would not give me a price so I said I will get back to him SAP
I really don't want gun or need it but I would like to get the Lyman Scope for my original 1956 Rem 40x 22lr and sell gun I offered to buy scope but he does't want to break-up
What you thoughts on value with out scope
Thanks in advance for any input

i gave a buddy a deal on a bare action at $800 with trigger. it's worth what you can get; so helpful i know.
$1500 is probly top dollar, and worth it, just need to find the guy that takes a shine to an old school 308.
now if it was a duce....................

On a good day, scope $500, rifle $1200 But seeing as it is your brother 20 bucks seems fair...

I would pay about $1200-$1400 if I were buying and REALLY wanted it.

especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

Put it up on CGN and here with those pics and someone will pay 18-1900.
At 1500 I don't think it would last 2 days. You can't raise the price but you can lower it and they don't come up for sale very often. Many people will want to own that one especially with the light use its had.
