Default Broken Leaf Spring

Noticed that my rear passenger side top leaf spring broke in the middle on my 2019 F150. Never overloaded it by weight or towing. First I'll check with ford to see if there is any warranty as the truck only has 50k km, however if that doesn't work out where is a good reputable place in Edmonton I can take it to. Thanks

I would get new spring packs from Standens and be done with it. I have found the mid 2000’s fords had a lot of broken springs, don’t imagine they have increased the metallurgy or QC.

I haven’t had a ton of experience with the newer fords so not sure how that looks on the newer body style.

Standens as mentioned is good and likely have the same options as City Spring. I know at City spring they can also sell you different GVW springs for your truck too. So if you like you could make it a “heavy half” if you so choose. That would entail changing both spring packs; but I would change both regardless. I have no experience with Alberta spring but bet they know a thing or two about springs.

Replace all of your rear springs, if one breaks more will in the future, save money and grief and just replace them all.

Too many springs now made from recycled car bodies from our favorite oriental manufacture. Recycled steel only good enough for rebar, not for high stress load applications like truck springs. Standens does good quality spring manufacturing.

And probably cheaper to have the work done at one of these places vs at the dealership.

A decent jack, a couple stands, torque wrench, and an impact and its a two hour job in your garage.

I’d check your dealership for any repair and compare pricing. Then ask for 20% off and see what they say. If not in a rush and say you are flexible time wise they often have dropped the price for me.

Agreed. It’s a pretty simple job if inclined doing it yourself, even without an impact but a simple ratchet (how I roll, lol).

And what did you guys do with the front left bolt that you can not remove because it hits the fuel tank?

Any reviews for Northwest Spring in Edmonton?
A lot closer to me than Alberta or City Spring.

Called City Spring today and got a quote to stiffen up the springs on the Ram 1500 Sport grocery getter. Surprisingly inexpensive. Coil springs be damned.

(Upside being it wasn't equipped with their pathetic air suspension)

Cut it off. Replace with new. Install bolt from opposite side and nut to fuel tank. Trim the new bolt as required.

Or drop the tank.

Sounds like my 2006 wasn't an exception. Springs from Pick and Pull, only complication was that the engineers at Ford put the bolts in so have to remove the gas tank to get them out, or cut them, which isn't easy. I actually got in trouble at Pick and Pull when they discovered my side grinder in my tool kit. Luckily, it was on the way out. Count on replacing the U bolts as well.

Northwest Spring has been Truckzone for years. They are a HD truck shop like City Spring, Fleetbrake or Hayworth.

Truckzone or Fleetbrake would be my choices. Fleetbrake is in either Acheson or south Edmonton.
