Default No Confiscations in Alberta without a Permit

This is a move in the right direction. I like it. I hope what ever government wins in May will keep this program in place to support Alberta sportsman.

I personally would issue the permits, $1million per each person involved in the confiscations, and an additional $5000 per firearm to be confiscated, in addition to fair market value. Bring some tax money back to Alberta

That was exactly what I was thinking. If we cant stop them make it so expensive that it becomes impractical. Plus the owner is in fact compensated not only for the firearm but for the intrusion into there life and there liberty.

Don't forget the week long mandatory training before they can apply for a license.

EXACTLY

Dani and her fans using gun owners as a political football

Pretty tired of being kicked around by “conservatives” in this country. And yes I know the NDP is worse. Best of the worst is hardly a position to aim for, and certainly doesn’t inspire loyalty.

Edit:

What should have happened, is a law that states no firearms will be confiscated on the basis of classification by any government employee or official, within Alberta. If the RCMP or anyone else breaks this law, they are guilty of domestic terrorism and will be sentenced to the maximum prison term applicable, with no right of appeal. Warrants will then be issued for the person who signed the confiscation orders, with the same penalty applied if they ever set foot within our boundaries.

THAT is what conservatism and property rights look like.

I wonder if the Rcmp will still be allowed to seize the firearms as part of an investigation without the permits. If so they will just start an investigation for any reason they can, drag it out until the owner has no choice but to surrender it to the crown.

I have no doubt the queens crossing guards will find a loophole and exploit the hell out of it.
