Default Gunsmith for opening fixed 12 gauge choke

Hi everyone,

Any recommendations on gunsmiths (preferably Calgary area or Alberta generally) to open a 12 gauge fixed Full choke on an older Browning Citori?

Other barrel is modified so I am looking at Improved Cylinder for the pair.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, Jim

I'm told that Les Myers is the shotgun guru in the Calgary area. He has moved to High River. 403-650-1923.

There is a gunsmith in Leduc that can tread 12 gauge barrels for removable chokes. I don't remember his name. Sorry.

I think Rod Hendrickson is still reaming chokes and forcing cones. Or just mail the barrel to fps plus

Reaming chokes is not a difficult process however having the proper reamers makes a huge difference on the quality of the finish and care not to change point of impact . Some guys use adjustable reamers that expand. They leave a poor quality finish and prone to change point of impact .

Gary Blaskow in Barrhead opened up my 1100 barrel to modified choke. Not sure if he’s still doing work in his shop nowadays though.
