Default Charge master problem

So my old charge master that is probably 10 years old was making a bit of a different noise the last time I used it and it was throwing over.

I went to use it today and was loading 23.5gr of H110 for my 44 mag. A few times it threw 34 gr and was consistently throwing over.

I turned it off and started loading using my old 10-10 scale and a trickler.

Even with the chargemaster turned off every once in awhile it would dispense a little bit of powder about every 30 seconds.

Just wondering are these worth repairing or is it pooched andhas any one else had similar issues.

RCBS has great customer service. I would phone them first and explain your situation and listen to what they have to say.

Definitely what lannie said.

I’m probably the odd man out and/or don’t load enough but I just found them too noisy. My old beam scale works awesome and I still throw lots and just weigh every 10, then check cases once 50 are done

I’m retry sure I used to load that charge weight with 300g XTP’s but I’d have the check, perhaps it was 21.5g

They were definitely a handful in the 4” 695

RCBS is likely to refer you to these guys, I see there are a couple of repair vids out now too.

Does your model have the two 50 gram weights ? Does it calibrate correctly.
Mine was wonko , blew out bottom of load cell [stuck pieces of powder and whatever] with compressor and it has being fine for last five years or so.

Mine has the two 50gram weights. The scale still calibrates well and is bang on when I compare it to my 10-10 scale. It’s my dispenser that is screwed up and will keep dumping powder even after it has met the set weight.
