It's a Grendel. Word on the street is you could load a 45 gr Nerf Soft Point in it and kill elk at 400 yards.

Still don’t see much use for the Grendel
Why shoot a 6.5 120 gr bullet @ 2600 fps
When you can shoot a 6mm that is only 11grs lighter, 400 fps faster with only 3 more grains of powder?

If we take the “less powder is better “ approach to it’s ultimate conclusion we would all be hunting with 22 short cartridges. There’s definitely better hunting cartridges than the 22 short and also the 6.5 Grendel. Why bother?

I have owned three 6.5x54Ms rifles and my buddy still hunts with one of them .
Great little round, but it is the Mannlichet Schoenauer that they ate chambered in that is the real feature!

Default 6.5 G cartridge

. Pretty quiet here on the 6.5 Grendel thread ?

I’m still playing with mine - Recent up dates is a STOCKYS Carbon Fibre Stock which is over 1 lb lighter than the Hogue club it came with . Replaced the Trigger with a JARD set at 1.5 lb pull - Its breaks very nice & clean . Total weight with an Elite 4-12 x40 in Talleys is a EVEN. 6 lbs .
Still playing with different bullets and powders - just received some Barnes 115 gr Tac bullets that are a designed Hunting Mono bullet for the Grendel .
I enjoy shooting this little rifle and will PROB use it this fall for whitetail hunting .

Ok now back to its BIG brother the 6.5 PRC for further testing ! . RJ
