Default Shoulder protection?

Can anybody please suggest a good shoulder pad that I can wear under my coat for bird hunting with my shotgun? Something I can strap on my chest and shoulder. Recent shoulder surgery makes my shotgun bite a lot more than it used to it seems. Thanks for your help.

Caldwell makes a shoulder worn recoil pad, PAST I believe it's called, works pretty good.

The past is good, but be aware that you will add upwards to 1/2" to your length of pull.

Default Caldwell PAST

I’ve used a PAST for several years now, mostly for range work with the bigger calibers. Not a shot gunner, but I’m sure it would work well there as well. Yes it will add to your LOP. I don’t really notice that difference, but I definitely notice the reduction in felt recoi

What kind of shotgun do you shoot? If the shoulder will be sensitive long term, you might want to consider a gas operated semi auto, possibly even a 20 gauge.

The PAST pad works, ..... knew the inventors and one of their products was a good shirt with the pad, but it got too expensive so they dropped it and eventually sold off the rights to Caldwell.
If you find one a bit too thick, get some Ensolite and create your own, then sew it into your jacket, ..... know a few that did that.
And switching to semi-auto is also a good start.
