I left the gutpile and bones of two quartered out deer under a trail cam. The magpies, ravens, an eagle and 3 coyotes were busy for 21 hours before the 2 deers worth of guts and bones was completely clear of the area. 2 hours after the fighting of the clean up animals left, Deer walked through paying no attention to the bloody grass. Elk came through 2 days later and didn't pay any attention.
The year before in the exact same spot, i left a single deer kill gutpile and it was cleaned up in 8 hours completely by magpies and ravens. Deer were there that evening same day. Paid no attention to the blood soaked grass.
