It doesn’t open until tomorrow. So you probably won’t get much for updates yet unless you’re wondering how the ice fishing was.

According to the regs, stickied at the top of this page, it is clearly stated that Winifred is open all year. I would be inclined to favor the regs over the fishing guide myself.

Im pretty sure he runs one of the lodges
$50 gets you info on how the fishing is, use of a boat launch, and he might even grade the private road for you

Ya when you live out there you need to swindle every dollar out of people you can $50 for someone to tell you how the fishing is going that’s a joke. $50 to use a launch that they maintain is reasonable. Talking **** to people asking questions is not reasonable no respect for people like that.

Take your chainsaw with you. Cut off your arm and leg and maybe you will be able to launch and park your vehicle !!!!!

How did Winefred end up with a lodge to begin with? This question isn’t for WC.

What would it take to put a camp ground with a decent boat launch on Winefred to give them some competition. From what I’m reading shouldn’t e to difficult to provide better customer service then what is currently being offered.

If it had a campground with a decent launch and a good road the fishing would be about the same as most of the other easily accessible lakes in Alberta. Mediocre.

She only gives what she takes!! Road was brutal last year, definitely at the lodges mercy for descent access. Best of luck to those who journey in for the catch and release fishing
